Tucson House | Historic Oasis w/Pool, Garden, & Fire Pit

3 Bedroom House in Tucson

Welcome to The Lavender House, a 1940s historic Tucson home situated in the desirable San Clemente neighborhood. Lovingly remodeled using old-world materials and techniques, the Lavender House features handmade Moroccan tiling, a vintage soaking tub, lime wash walls, original oak floors, and marble countertops. Enjoy outdoor dining and grilling, make a fire in the fire pit, or lounge around the pool where you'll feel transported to the Mediterranean beneath the old olive trees.
The Lavender House is for anyone who wants a central location in Tucson and prefers understated luxury, charm, and tranquility. This is not a "copy/paste" VRBO -- artwork is original and furniture has been collected over time by the owners from designers, artisans, and antique stores across the west coast.

Each bedroom is equipped with high-quality linens, 4 down pillows, a down duvet, a ceiling fan, and light-blocking shades. Guests often compliment the comfort of the beds.
OUTSIDE AREAS
The garden offers various spaces to enjoy; take a dip in the pool, sunbathe on the loungers, have dinner alfresco at one of two dining tables, gather around the BBQ for outdoor cooking, or cozy-up next to the fire pit. Summary: We really loved this property. The bedrooms were wonderful. The outdoor space is special! I just wish we used it more. We were so busy with graduation that we weren’t home much.

Summary: My family loved this beautiful oasis in Tucson. The home was so cozy, clean and beautifully appointed that we hated leaving to explore the community. We weren’t able to use the pool but was still able to enjoy the patio. My teenage daughter loved reading in the comfy lounge chairs. Sophia was a wonderful hostess. We tried some of her recommendations and loved each of them. I would definitely book Sophia’s wonderful home again.

Summary: Wonderful oasis close to downtown Tucson. Spent almost as much time outside the house as inside. The grounds and pool are impeccable. The interior design and art took us to French country. Bravo!

Summary: My husband, mother, daughter, and I came to Tucson for my mother's birthday to visit a friend and stayed in the Lavender House. The house and the surrounding property were beautiful, well-maintained, and well-stocked with everything you could think of the. The beds were super comfortable. The furniture and decor was high quality and more than you would expect from a VRBO. It was nice because my mother had the master bedroom/bathroom, which were on the opposite side of the house from the bedrooms where my husband and I and our daughter slept, so there was some privacy. We enjoyed spending time in the backyard on the lawn chairs and had lunch at the back table one day. My daughter even attempted to get into the pool even though it was still a bit early in the season for it. Sophia, the owner, was very communicative and responsive. We had a great stay and would highly recommend!

Summary: Very nice, quiet, comfortable place. Interesting historic neighborhood. Kitchen excellent. Trader Joes and Sprouts 5-minute drive. Also, lots of restaurants close by. Good central location for just about everything. Anywhere in the city, including airport, less than 20 minute drive. Multiple mountain and desert hiking trailheads less than 30 minutes away (Madera Canyon just under 1-hour drive). Only complaint, it was unseasonably cold so we did not use back yard or pool. I think those would have been great if the weather had been warmer.

Summary: The house is charming, comfortable, spacious and very clean. It was quick and easy to get to downtown restaurants as well as the beautiful natural areas on the outskirts. We were impressed with all the seating arrangements in the private yard and around the pool deck. The kitchen was amazingly well stocked and the appliances are all quite new and in good working order. The beds were divine. One issue -- communicating through the VRBO app, which continued to be a challenge. Sophia worked around this and we were able to message one another via email and phone messaging. Overall -- I would recommend this property for small groups and families who would like the comforts of home while visiting Tucson.

Summary: Our family was delighted by this lovely Vrbo property. The location was ideal for many of the planned activities on our agenda. The pool and yard were just beautiful and well cared for…we spent a lot of time enjoying them. All the rooms were clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable. Summary: If you are looking for a comfortable oasis in the center of Tucson, look no further. I took my two teens to Tucson for a quick Spring break trip to see family and friends. We wanted to rent a place that was close to Reid Park and had a comfortable yard for outside meals with family. Lavender House exceeded our expectations. The beautiful photos don’t do it justice. Let’s start with the yard. The pool was clean, and though unheated, it was still swimmable the first weekend in April. The picnic table overlooks the pool. It seats six comfortably, and I enjoyed the fact that it was in the shade. We didn’t use the fire pit, but the outdoor chairs and sofas around it are a comfortable place for a morning coffee or (in my case) a tasty smoothie made courtesy of the Ninja blender in the well-appointed kitchen. The grill sits around the corner from the fire pit, which is the furthest point in the back yard from the pool, but the closest to the kitchen—making it much easier to access if grilling is your thing. Inside the Lavender House, you will find two good-sized bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower on the pool side of the house and a new owner’s suite on the other side with a gorgeous bathroom. The beds are simply the most comfortable I have ever slept on and my kids agreed. The first night, I chalked it up to exhaustion, but they remained absolutely perfect. We have the Heavenly mattresses in our home, and these beds were a notch up from that. The living room has a comfortable sofa and chair, a large t.v., and a fireplace. The dining room sits next to the kitchen, but we tended to eat either at the breakfast nook or outside. The kitchen is small, but well appointed—microwave, gas range, coffee press, Ninja blender, electric kettle, and a filtering water pitcher. I don’t think you’d want more than two people trying to cook at the same time. There’s even a very large wooden cutting board, which is a must because those gorgeous marble countertops will stain. (As an aside, I have been trying to get my 15-yr-old son to use a cutting board for years. The note from the Lavender House about staining countertops…and my threat of “you break it, you buy it”…finally did the trick. We’ve been home for over a week, and he’s been using cutting boards at home—thank you!!! The Lavender House made our trip to the Old Pueblo truly feel like coming home.
